Josse van Clichtove. Ingolstadt : Gedruckt durch Alexander Weissenhorn, 1547.

Josse van Clichtove (c. 1472-1543) was a Flemish priest and theologist as well as an avid opponent of Martin Luther. His works cover a wide variety of theological and philosophical fields, including commentaries on Aristotelean treatises, ethics, logic, and even geometry and arithmetic.

The woodcuts in this work depict various prayers and Catholic sacraments, reflecting the religious beliefs that would have been the spiritual basis of Western European society at the time.
